JOHN B. LINSTROM
Chief John Linstrom is the President & Executive Director of The LINCO Group. He manages the daily activities of the company’s efforts in planning, consulting and creating various distance learning courses for emergency response personnel. John was previously a corporate Vice President and Director of Education for the Fire and Emergency Training Network (FETN) and the host of the American Heat television program at Primedia Workplace Learning in Dallas, Texas.
John is a Lecturer for the Academy of Counter-terrorism Education at Louisiana State University and is also an adjunct instructor for the National Fire Academy. He is a graduate of the National Executive Fire Officer Program. He holds a B.S. degree in Fire Administration and also holds A.S. degrees in both Fire Technology and Paramedic Science. John frequently presents at conferences, seminars and regional course deliveries throughout North America.
Chief Linstrom is active with two Federal disaster response teams. He serves as Commander of Region 9 of the National Disaster Medical System’s Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team (DMORT) and is a member of California Task Force 6
of the National Urban Search & Rescue Response Program under FEMA. He is an Associate of the International Emergency Technical Rescue Institute (IETRI) headquartered in Glascow, Scotland. John is an appointed Battalion Chief and Paramedic Coordinator for the Apple Valley Fire District in Southern California. He is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) and was recently appointed to the Education Committee of the California State Firefighter’s Association (CSFA).
His experience with public Fire and EMS agencies spans 25 years. Chief Linstrom has served as a Fire District elected Director and Division Chief. He also has held the position of Deputy, Assistant and Interim Fire Chief in North Texas from 1993-1999.
He and his wife Traci reside in Apple Valley, California.
